This Privacy Policy applies to kempstonpilots.com and all subdomains operated by Kempston Pilots (including game subdomains such as penaltyshootout.kempstonpilots.com, dunkerisland.kempstonpilots.com, and others). Kempston Pilots is an independent game studio based in Córdoba, Argentina.

2. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate this website and its features. Specifically:
- Leaderboard data: When you submit a score to a game leaderboard, you voluntarily provide a 1–3 character player name (initials). We also automatically collect your approximate city and country via IP address geolocation (using the ipapi.co service) for display alongside leaderboard entries. We do not collect full names, email addresses, or precise location data through this process.
- Anonymous player ID: Games generate a random anonymous identifier (UUID) stored in your browser's localStorage. This ID is used solely to associate your scores across sessions and games. It is not linked to any personal information and cannot be used to identify you.
- Usage data: Like most websites, our hosting provider (Netlify) automatically logs standard server access data, including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used for security and performance monitoring. We do not use this data for tracking individual users.
- No account registration: This website does not require you to create an account. We do not collect names, email addresses, passwords, or payment information directly.
3. Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. This website uses the following types of cookies:
- Functional cookies: We use localStorage (a browser storage mechanism similar to cookies) to store your anonymous player ID and cached geolocation data. These do not expire automatically and persist until cleared by you. They are strictly functional — without them, your leaderboard scores would not persist between sessions.
- Advertising cookies (Google AdSense): This site uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense sets its own cookies to serve personalised or non-personalised ads based on your browsing activity. These cookies are managed by Google, not by Kempston Pilots. See Section 5 for more details.
- Analytics cookies: We do not currently use any third-party analytics service (such as Google Analytics) beyond what is provided natively by our hosting provider.
You can disable or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Disabling functional cookies will cause leaderboard features to stop working correctly.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes only:
- To display global leaderboards showing player scores, initials, and location
- To maintain your score history across visits using your anonymous player ID
- To serve advertisements via Google AdSense
- To monitor site performance and security through server logs
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use your data for any purpose beyond those listed above.
5. Google AdSense and Advertising
This website uses Google AdSense, an advertising service provided by Google LLC. Google AdSense uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve advertisements that may be personalised to your interests based on your browsing activity across websites.
As a third-party vendor, Google uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

6. Third-Party Services
This website uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:
- Supabase — Cloud database provider used to store leaderboard data. Data is stored on servers managed by Supabase. See Supabase Privacy Policy.
- ipapi.co — IP geolocation service used to determine approximate city and country for leaderboard display. Results are cached in your browser's localStorage to minimise requests. See ipapi.co Privacy Policy.
- Netlify — Hosting provider for this website. Netlify collects standard server access logs. See Netlify Privacy Policy.
- Google Fonts — Typography service used across this site. Fonts are loaded from Google's servers, which may log request metadata. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare — CDN and security service that may process requests through its network.
7. Data Retention
Leaderboard entries are stored indefinitely as they form part of the historical competitive record of each game. If you wish to have a specific leaderboard entry removed, contact us at hello@kempstonpilots.com with your player initials, approximate score, and the game name. We will process removal requests within a reasonable timeframe.
Server access logs are retained by Netlify in accordance with their data retention policy, typically 30 days.
localStorage data (anonymous player ID and geo cache) persists in your browser until you clear it manually via your browser settings.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete data we hold about you. Since we collect very limited personal data, the primary right applicable to most users is the ability to request deletion of any leaderboard entry associated with your player initials.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you also have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We process very little personal data as defined by these regulations, but we will honour all applicable rights requests.
9. Children's Privacy
This website and its games are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at hello@kempstonpilots.com and we will delete it promptly.
10. Security
This website is served exclusively over HTTPS (SSL/TLS encryption). Leaderboard data is stored in a secured Supabase database with Row Level Security enabled. We do not store sensitive personal information such as payment details, passwords, or government identifiers.
While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no system is entirely secure. In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting personal information, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of this website after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
